Andy McWain: CD's - MP3's

A new digital-download only recording... My third project as a leader (co-leader), RESEMBLANCE features music from two separate recording sessions: one with Assif Tsahar (tenor sax/bass cl), Albey Balgochian (elec upright bass), and Chris Poudrier (dr/perc) with Andy McWain on acoustic piano; and another session with Sofia Koutsovitis (voc), Rick Britto (sax). Jeremy Udden (sax), David Landoni (acoustic bass), and Chris Poudrier (dr/perc) with Andy McWain on elec piano...) Recorded, Mixed and mastered at three studios around Massachusetts, this is a digital distribution/digital download-only project.

The cd VIGIL is an improvised trio session with Andy McWain (piano), bassist Albey Balgochian (currently with Cecil Taylor) and veteran drummer Laurence Cook (who has worked with Alan Silva, Paul Bley, and Bill Dixon), and it was recorded at PBS Studios, Westwood, MA by Peter Kontrimas, engineer. (Tracks: Absolute Blue; Vigil; The Window of Views; Offerings in Purple; Ceremonial Moon; Impervious Light; Indestructible Red).

Debut cd as a leader features Assif Tsahar on tenor sax and bass clarinet, Andy McWain on piano, Noah Jarrett on acoustic bass, and Chris Poudrier on drums and percussion. It was recorded at Uptime Studios, New York, NY by Paul Mascott, engineer. Cadence Magazine's Jay Collins described Starfish as "a convincing debut", and critic Glenn Astarita, writing for allaboutjazz.com, called it a "major and altogether delightful surprise."
